Members of what was once The Tri Lakes Church on Highway 248 in Branson have disbanded, changed their name and moved to a new location.

A church receptionist who answered the phone when contacted by HometownDailyNews.com says the new church, Grace Community Assembly, is temporarily meeting at the Catholic Church Parish Center, just off 76 near Highway 65.

A more permanent home for the church has not been announced.

In the meantime, a spokesperson for theTri Lakes Church and Event Center told a local newspaper the building is being sold, and the new buyers should be making a statement at a later date. She did not say who the new owner was.

The church receptionist told us the event center is still functioning at this time, and future concerts scheduled at the facility will go on as planned.

The senior pastor at the formerTriLakesChurchwas unavailable for comment.

The real truth is that the members of the church "banded together" to continue in fellowship, in support of having funds to support the community and missions better :) The former building was a blessing, but left the congregation with little to nothing to give to others. A lot of excitement is surrounding the transition, and there was a huge celebration their first Sunday together as Grace Community Church :))))

But this scenario doesn't pass the smell test. Makes no sense at all.
