The City of Branson Capital Improvements Committee is recommending a design team led by a Kansas City firm to guide the Highway 76 Complete Streets project.

The team led by Cook, Flatt and Strobel Engineers of Kansas City is recommended by the committee.   Friday’s vote followed presentations by four design and engineering firms and a two-week period for public input.  The multi-year project is aimed improving the overall vitality of the strip, including aesthetics, pedestrian accessibility, and stimulation of redevelopment on vacant parcels.

After the final contract is negotiated with the firm by city staff, the Board of Aldermen will vote on final approval.

Hey lets consult to hire a consultant, but first meet and consult about hiring a consultant, then hire a consultant, that way its not our engineering to blame, so lets pay millions to consultants so we can continue to consult about hiring consltants

It’s easy to spend other peoples money, or steal it too. I guess the private sector who originally built this town doesn’t know what their doing anymore.
What this city needs - 07/30/2012 12:33:40 PM
What this city needs is a City Engineer. One that can do something on his own without a high dollar consultant. You can see what this present Engineer has been successful with, building blind intersections. Intersections that you have to pull away out past the stop sign to see what traffic is coming. Hire and engineer first.

what you have is government that will spend whatver t takes to a consultant instead of being personally sued by a contarctor for all the mistakes made by the city during construction , omiting mistakes adding mistakes and so on

what this city needs ,, you are 100 percent correct just look at the sight distance issues all over this town, it isnt about safety or code it is about money, turning a blind eye to issues concerning positive intersection and look at the eyesores all over , but when the city engineer is put on a pedestal by the mayor anything goes just right the city a check and it will get done modot sure doesnt allow this the city is just poised for a lawsuit.
